Submitted in partnership with Cityregen Leicester, the plans are to transform the Corah Works into new homes and public spaces with improved links between the city centre and Abbey Park.
The regeneration will include new commercial units and a hotel, and the facade of the 1865 Old Textile Building and two landmark chimneys will be retained.

“We are delighted with this decision, which comes after extensive work with the community and council over a number of years,” said Phil Harris, managing director at Galliford Try Investments.
“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform a landmark site, create much-needed new homes and public spaces, and support Leicester’s future growth.
“By respecting Corah’s heritage while delivering modern, sustainable development, the scheme will bring pride back to this historic part of the city.”
